Privacy Policy

Overview

SwipeGK is a General Knowledge and Current Affairs practice service. This policy explains what information we collect when you use SwipeGK, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

Google account information

If you choose to sign in with Google, we request only the standard openid, email, and profilescopes. This provides your Google account identifier, name, email address, and profile photo. We do not receive your Google password or access your Gmail, contacts, calendar, or Google Drive.

Profile and activity information

We may store a display name, profile image, and optional phone number you choose, registrations of interest for upcoming tests, and information needed to provide account-based features. Quiz attempts, starred questions, preferences, tutorial status, and a randomly generated anonymous device identifier may also be stored on your device using browser storage. Current quiz scoring is performed locally.

Messages and technical information

If you contact us, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit. Our service providers may process limited technical information such as IP address, browser information, cookies, and security signals to operate authentication, prevent abuse, and deliver the service.

How we use information

• Authenticate you and maintain your SwipeGK account.
• Provide profile, saved-question, registration, and personalized features.
• Remember settings and maintain the app on your device.
• Respond to support messages and communicate about requested features.
• Secure, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information or use Google user data for advertising.

How information is shared

We share information only as needed to operate SwipeGK, when you direct us to, or when required by law. Service providers currently include Google for sign-in, Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage, and EmailJS for contact email delivery. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. An uploaded profile image may be served from a public URL.

If SwipeGK is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate notice and applicable law.

Cookies and device storage

SwipeGK uses authentication cookies required to keep you signed in and browser storage required for preferences, saved questions, tutorials, and local quiz activity. You can clear this data using your browser controls, although doing so may sign you out or reset local features.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Local information remains until you or your browser clears it. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may sign out at any time and update your display name or profile image in the app. You may also ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account. To make a request, use the contact form on our About page or email abhishek.gaike@yahoo.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Children's privacy

SwipeGK is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SwipeGK changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the service where appropriate.
